With The San Diego Padres turning to their newly acquired Rookie Chad Reineke for starting pitching help, he proved he was worth ever bite of ex-Padre Randy Wolf. Reineke looked Sharp; at first he struggled but then he settled in throwing up 5 innings 5 hits 3 runs all earned 3 BBs and 5 strikeouts, all-n-all he was throwing heat and locating with little effort.

The Batting had a tune that sounded like this, Jody Gerut went 3-5 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Tadahito Iguchi went 2-4 with a hit a BB and 2 strikeouts, Brian Giles went 2-2 with 3 RBIs one hit one run scored and a sac-fly making 4 RBIs. On a Friday night on a game I was going to attend. I pulled out at the last minute and gave my tickets a way, and I am glad I did because I would have been yelling my head off to The San Diego Padres’batters, it was hard for my to watch t.v. with the Padres playing poorly and the only football game was the choke-land Raiders and the Tennessee Titans; Titans won 16-17.
For the baseball game Greg”Mad Dog”Madduxhad plenty to be mad about going 7 innings giving up only 5 hits and one run it was earned(the only run) it was one bad pitch by Maddux that was P.Burrell’s 28th homer of the year, also had 4 strikeouts.
The Bullpen was its self of lately again with Clay Hensley,Justin Hampson,Mike Adams and Wilfredo Ledezma combined to throw up 2 shutout innings, giving up only one hit with one walk and 5 strikeouts.
Tomorrow’s game will feature newly acquired Chad Reinekevs. K.Kendrick(10-6) game starts at 7:05pm pt/10:05pm et. T.V: 4SD;RADIO: XPRS 1090/105.7 FM , XEMO 860

On the Saturday night game in San Diego most of The San Diego Padres fans were preparing for the Chargers Pre-Season Game vs. Dallas, but for those who where flipping back n’ forth they saw a very good pitched game by “Greg Mad Dog Maddux” the 3rd straight that the rest of the Padres lineup back him scoring wise. He went six innings giving up 6 hits 2 runs both earned one BB 4 strikeouts and gave up one home run; very solid again, I hope he get his shot at winning at least 10 games this year making it 20 years with least 10 or more games won.

Bullpen Notes: Mike Adams, Clay Hensley, Heath Bell, Cla Meredith and Trevor Hoffman combined to throw up 3 scoreless innings one hit 3 BB and 2 strikeouts, and Hoffman getting his 25th save of the year. On a bad Bullpen note: Bryan Corey gave up 2 hits and one run scored it was earned and got no one out.
The bats came alive in the sixth after being tied 1-1 the Padres put together a series of hits that scored them 5 runs. Adrian Gonzalez went 2-5 with his 28th homer of the year also had another hit with an RBI and two runs scored; Luis Rodriguez went 3-5 with two runs scored and a strikeout. Kevin Kouzmanoff also went 3-5 two runs scored and an RBI with one strikeout.
Chase Headley went 2-5 with a run scored and two RBIs plus a strikeout.

Nick Hundley went 1-4 with a run scored and two RBIs and two strikeout, and good ole’ Mad Dog went 1-3 with a RBI bunt single in the sixth too keep the rally alive, as usual Maddux helping his own case for a win. Brian Giles went 0-5 with a strikeout, 3 ground-outs and a pop-up.

Tomorrow’s game will be Chris Young (4-4) vs. L.Hernandez (10-8) at 12:05pm pt/1:05pm ct/3:05 pm ET. TV: 4SD/704-HD | RADIO: XPRS 1090/105.7 FM, XEMO 860

In a close one fought out by The San Diego Padres and The New York Mets, the Mets came out on top 6-5. Although the Mets where out slugged by the Padres 11 hit to the Mets six.
The starting pitching didn’t look to shabby with Chris Youngmaking his second start since his return from the DL; he went 5 and one third on one hit 2 runs both earned 5 BB 5 strikeouts and one HR in the 4th inning by F.Tatis that ended the no hitter he was throwing. Bullpen notes not much to look at as they gave away the game.
With Clay Hensley, Mike Adams and Justin Hampson combing to give up 5 hits 4 runs 3 earned one BB and one HR given up too F.Tatis(no not a typo) he hit two in this game, like he’s trying to revive his career or something.
The Bats were out and hitting but the Padres just could not find away to get the run that where on, across home plate.
As Kevin Kouzmanoff hit his 16th home run of the year, he also had another hit and a run scored making him 2 for 4 at the plate. Adrian Gonzalez hit his 27th bomb of the year; he also had a run scored and 2 strikeouts. Jody Gerut in the 9th inning brought the Padres back within one of the Mets with a 3-run homerun, he also had two other hits and a run scored making him 3 for 5 on the day.
Other notes from the batting lineup: Chase Headley went 2 for 3 with two single, which is good to see him getting back on-track. Nick Hundley had a run scored one hit one BB and one strikeout, plus in a pitch-hit appearance Scott Hairston went 1 for 1 with a walk.
On a sour note that I didn’t want too point out but I have to say something one bad move this winter was wasting 3.85 million on Tadahito Iguchi for second base when we signed Edger Gonzalez, granted they didn’t know if Edger would’ve work out, but they could’ve assumed that he is Adrian’s brother and those Gonzalez’s know how to play baseball, around.
Also this is hard to swallow for Padres fans, how we can really think that the front office is really doing a good job. I don’t want too think like,” what have you done lately” or “what have you done all together”. You paid a veteran CF 8 million,6 of it was guaranteed to play for us, when the whole team was slumping you blamed him, when his missed a few plays in the outfield you blamed him for the poor performances of the whole outfield.
Needless to say the front office cut him from the roster after basically paid him 6 mill.+ to have major league spring training at the beginning of the season, then he goes on to pull the usually numbers and web gems he is know for with a different club; on our salary pay(the Padres), can you guess how I am talking about, I bet you know his name: Jim Edmonds with a line of 26games 90AB 6runs 10BB 24SO .265/.233/.178 OBP/SLG/AVG with the Padres, then we let his go and with The Chicago Cubs a line of 54games 162AB 26runs 25hits 12HR 36RBI 35SO 27BB and .379/.586/.278.
Now when we signed Edmonds I told people don’t expect too much besides a good name in the lineup that other teams would have to think around him in the order to bet our lineup. But as soon as he did not hit homer after homer like he did in his prime, the blame went directly too him about how the Padres buy old players that are washed up, then once the Padres(front office) felt the pressure from the fans, then blamed him for lack of runs and errors in the outfield. They cut him then they felt the same ole pressure from the fans about letting people go so they could succeed somewhere else.
So far I can account for close too 10 million just between those two. Then go ahead and count Tony Clark, Mark Prior, Glendon Rusch and Michael Barrett combined to waste 6.275 million. Barrett being the biggest waste at 3.5 million for 30games 94AB 9runs 19hits 2HR 9RBI 9BB 16SO .274/.298/.202. Second biggest waste Prior a cool million and he wouldn’t even pitch this year or if ever again. Clark and Rusch not two bad 1.775 between both of them, Clark was worth all of his plus more, but Rusch was only with us two weeks at the most.
My point is that I am tried of the blame going to the team, when it wasn’t pieced together very good at all. For example if you buy a cat at a dog’s price you don’t beat them because they don’t protect your house like a dog, and if you spend wisely then maybe you’ll succeed to win something like a World Championship.

Now that I am done venting let see; Tomorrow’s game will be Cha Seung Baek (3-6) vs.P.Martinez (3-2). Game starts at 4:10pm pt/7:10 pm ET on 4SD/704-HD | RADIO: XPRS 1090/105.7 FM, XEMO 860.

A run that could have been prevented and a missed opportunity. Two plays. In a game full of great plays and each team getting and giving opportunities, those two plays really hurt The San Diego Padres as they lost to the Giants, 3-2, on Friday night in front of 33,926 fans.
The first, a passed ball by catcher Nick Hundley on a delivery from starter Josh Banks led to a run scoring from third.
The passed ball was just some miscommunication between the pitcher and his catcher. One thought splitter, the other thought fastball.
“We just got crossed up on the signs,” Hundley said. “He threw a split when I thought a fastball was coming. Just bad timing. He shouldn’t have to worry about not being able to see the signs. That’s unacceptable on my end to have that happen.”
The second one ended the game. Three straight singles by Edgar Gonzalez, Brian Giles and Adrian Gonzalez made it a bases-loaded situation, with one out in the bottom of the tenth inning. Kevin Kouzmanoff was coming to the plate. With a 2-2 count, Kouzmanoff hit a hard grounder to I.Ochaoa, the shortstop, who made a great play to touch the bag to get Adrian and then threw out Kouzmanoff at first. Game over.
“It’s one of those things where that’s the way it’s gone for us,” Adrian said. “Kouz hits it in the right spot, at the right speed and he gets thrown out by one step. In other years, he might’ve hit it just off or he beats it out. We tend to hit the balls at the wrong place at the wrong time. And that goes for all of us, the entire year.”
The air of the game seemed like the Padres would get some at-home magic working for them, as the Giants could never really separate themselves. J.Banks did a solid job, allowing two runs one earned on eight hits. Even while T.Lincecum was on the other side throwing 95-mph fastballs that helped him rack up 11 strikeouts during his seven innings of work.
A sacrifice fly by F.Lewis that scored R.Winn gave the Giants a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
But the Padres answered in the bottom of the second inning, on an RBI single by Luis Rodriguez. On the play, Giants’ first baseman J.Bowker made a great snag, but couldn’t decide where he wanted to go with the ball. As Kouzmanoff charged toward home, Bowker realized that his best play would be to go to first, but Rodriguez slid headfirst into the base and was called safe.
The play tied the game at 1.
The passed ball by Hundley gave the lead back to the Giants, and it would stay that way until the eighth inning.
Coming up in the bottom of an inning that saw center fielder Jody Gerut double-up Bowker at third to prevent an one-out man-on-third situation for the Giants, Adrian walked up the plate. He went through his approach, saw the first pitch from Giants’ reliever J.Taschner and liked it. A lot. So much that he sent it over the left-center-field wall to tie the game.
“When I hit it, I told myself it was out of here,” Adrian said. “But then two steps into it, I was like, ‘it might not get out.’ Just the whole PETCO fear of the ball not getting out.”
That’s what felt different about this game. Moments where it seemed like it wouldn’t, it would. Arian tied the game and Mike Adams and Heath Bell would pitch the Padres into extra innings.
In the tenth, Padres manager Bud Black called on future Hall of Fame closer Trevor Hoffman to, at the very least, preserve the tie. But after getting the first two outs, E.Burriss hit a blooper single over the head of Rodriguez. The Giants’ sent pinch-hitter Eugenio Velez to the plate and he hit a 2-0 fastball to right to score Burriss.
That put the Giants ahead, 3-2.
“Same parameters,” T.Hoffman said of pitching in the 10th instead of the ninth, “you gotta put up a goose egg and give your team a chance.”
There was no goose egg this time, but his team did have a chance, with the bases loaded in the tenth for Kouzmanoff. But it just wasn’t their night.
