The San Diego Padres have recalled right-hander Adam Russell from Triple-A Portland. In three previous stints with the Padres this season, Russell posted a 3.72 ERA in six relief appearances. He made 50 appearances for the Beavers this year, going 4-9 with a 4.88 ERA. Russell has gone 7-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 43 relief appearances during parts of three big league seasons with the White Sox and Padres.
