The San Diego Padres lost against the Houston Astros on Monday by a score of 10-3 putting the Padres at 9-11 for the year. Both teams have been fighting hard for wins but the Padres weren’t able to even come close against the Astros on Monday night.

Pretty much the only offense for the Padres were home runs by Jim Edmonds and Adrian Gonzalez.  Edmonds hit a solo home run in the second inning while Gonzalez hit his solo home run in the sixth inning.  Gonzalez did pick up another RBI with a sacrafice fly in the third inning.

The opening pitcher for the Padres was Justin Germano who threw for 3.1 innings giving up a staggering 10 hits, 10 runs, and three walks.  This loss put him at 0-2 for the year.  The Padres brought in Wilfredo Ledezma and Kevin Cameron to pitch the last 4.2 innings.  Both Ledezma and Cameron did pretty good as Ledezma allowed three hits and Cameron allowed zero hits.

The Padres will go up against the Astros one more time tonight in Houston before returning home to face the San Francisco Giants.
