It was a pitchers dual last night as the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants face off. It was bad news for the Padres however, as the Giants won the game 1-0 on a Rich Aurilia home run in the seventh inning. The Giants only had four hits in the game, but they made sure one of them counted.
Chris Young took the loss for the Padres. Young should have picked up the win no questions about it, if the offense would have gave him some run support. Young was on top of his game, except for the one pitch mistake to Aurilia.
The Padres sucked it up at the plate as they only recorded five hits the entire ballgame. They left 18 runners on base while striking out 11 times.
