Josh Willingham hit a three-run home run as the Washington Nationals hung on to beat the San Diego Padres 5-3 in the National League on Friday. Ian Desmond had a solo shot for the Nationals while starting pitcher John Lannan (2-2) earned his first victory in seven weeks, giving up only one earned run in seven innings.
